Machine Learning Researcher
We usually respond within a day
Monava is an acoustic machine learning lab — turning sound into actionable intelligence for defence and security. We currently focus on alternative ways of detecting flying drones by replacing radars with microphones (microphones are undetectable, energy efficient and cost-effective).
We can't share a lot about what we do, but if you want to work at the frontiers of ML and defence, we'd love to hear from you.
Why now:
First unit sold: we've sold our first test system to armed forces.
Paid pilots: our technology has been validated (TRL 6) in paid pilots with large defence contractor.
Active in Ukraine, and other countries.
Investments: We are well funded.
The role:
As a Machine Learning Researcher, you'll research, train and ship models end-to-end. You'll work across the stack on novel, hard-to-get data, run scaling experiments and create rigorous evals, and tighten the loop between what's deployed and what you train next. The product saves lives today; the feedback loop is short and the outcomes matter on the battle field.
We're looking for generalists with preferable depth in one or more of: ML research, digital signal processing, software, math, defence, or electronics. You might have shipped models at a frontier lab, contributed to foundational research, led a data team, built a real-time inference pipeline, placed in math/ML competitions, won hackathons, or built guidance systems. If you operate at the frontier, we'll shape the role around you.
The role is based around Gothenburg, Stockholm or Helsinki and is remote for now (we are open to other locations). It is a paid position with equity at a growing start up.
Let's build the future of sound.
